### I'm getting `Connection closed` and `Connection timed out` when connecting via one of the bastion
The `Connection closed` message is usually an indication of too many failed authentication attempts.
That can be either because of using the wrong authentication method (only password authentication is supported,
try `ssh -o PreferredAuthentications=password`) or because of an incorrect password.
The `Connection timed out` message is usually an indication of a ban of your connection due to too many failed
login attempts. The ban will be lifted automatically after a cooldown period. However, the ban will become permanent
when your connection was banned multiple times already. So do not keep retrying the failing attempts. (There is no
point, when it doesn't work the first time, it certainly won't work the second time.)
If you still get connection timeout, you can file a request through the Self-Service portal (via the "I have a general question form").
