Adding people to groups has pre-requisites

When I try to add someone to a group apparently I need to also add them to the edition (which is kinda tedious), could you make it so it instantly adds them to the correct edition when I try adding them to a group?

Or is this an intended feature for some reason? If yes then NVM, but at least can you change the error msg from "Oops something went wrong" -> "Please add person to edition" or something like that.
