Selectize boxes resize akwardly
Selectize input boxes resize to the length of the input. This means that if you start typing, the input field immediately shrinks to tiny size, and the dropdown with it. This in turn makes it impossible to see the options as you are typing until you are far along.
This can be fixed by changing the following lines to the selectize.js in the autogrow function:
(line 1094)
+ var placeholder_width = measureString(placeholder, $input);
+ width = Math.max(measureString(value, $input), placeholder_width) + 4;
- width = measureString(value, $input) + 4;
This changes the behavior to take the width of the placeholder as a minimum for the resizing. This means the input field can grow, but cannot shrink to smaller than its initial size. The placeholders we can pad with spaces to lengthen them.
We should investigate how to make this change to this package.
